Carl Hutchison received a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Sam Houston State University in 1973. From there, he went on to earn a Master of Arts degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1979. Carl has taught private percussion lessons in both Huntsville and Burleson. From 1990-1996, he taught music for Alvarado ISD. Since 1996, Carl has been employed as a music teacher for Burleson ISD, and currently teaches music at Mound Elementary School.
Outside of teaching public school music classes and private lessons, Mr. Hutchison keeps himself busy performing. He is currently the principal percussionist for the Fort Worth City Band, and has played for them consistenly for the past 25 years. He is also the drummer/percussionist for the Oak Grove Baptist Church Praise Band in Burleson, TX.
Children in the Burleson/Joshua area, who have not yet reached public school age, might already know Mr. Hutchison as "The Music Man", as he also does summer music programs for local childcare centers.
Mr. Hutchison teaches private lessons in drum set, hand drumming, and other concert percussion of all levels. He also teaches beginner and early-intermediate mallet instruments (marimba, xylophone, bells).
