Music For Little Mozarts
Music For Little Mozarts is a music class for 3-5 year olds. Students can progress through three semesters of instruction.  This is a  course that uses various activities to teach music in a very fun way.  Each one-hour class incorporates such activities as playing rhythm instruments, clapping exercises, singing, dancing, and learning to read basic music notation.  Students learn about various composers and styles of music.  They learn to follow a steady beat in music with their bodies and with rhythm instruments in order to make it easier to follow a beat while playing an instrument.

Music For Little Mozarts was written specifically for preschool students (ages 3-5), so it moves at a slow pace to allow for reinforcement of every concept.  By the end of the 3rd semester, students will understand many basic musical concepts.  And they will know a little bit about several composers and the music they wrote.  Following the 3rd semester, students can continue into a semester of Piano Preparatory Class (see below).


Piano Preparatory Class
Piano Preparatory Class helps to prepare young students for private piano lessons.  It can also be used as a supplement to piano lessons that have already begun.  In a fun, classroom environment, students apply concepts such as dynamics (loud and soft), pitch, finger numbers, rhythm patterns, basic note reading, etc. to the piano keyboard.  This class is open to students age 4-6.

Students who are age 4 or older can opt to enroll in Piano Preparatory Class and/or private piano or violin lessons concurrently with Music for Little Mozarts.  The concepts they are learning in Music for Little Mozarts and/or Piano Preparatory Class will help them to be more successful in their private lessons. (Appropriate instruments will be necessary for practice at home for private lessons.  Please discuss this with the instructor.)

Class size ranges from 5-15 students.  Classes with 10 or more students may have an assistant teacher.

Spring 2012 session:  January 30th - May 21  (no class March 12)

Class Schedule:   
                 Level 1 Little Mozarts -- Mondays @ 12:30-1:30pm  OR  Mondays @ 6:15-7:15pm
                 Piano Preparatory    --   Tuesdays @ 10:45-11:45am
                 
Tuition:  $280 per 16-week semester.   (Or 4 monthly payments of $75)
Books/Supplies: There are optional supplies that can be purchased for at-home use. These are not required, but we highly recommend them.  Students enrolled in Piano Preparatory Class should have a piano at home to review concepts learned in class.  Click here for more information about this requirement.
