Lisa Cummins - Piano, Beginning Voice

Picture
Having a father who loved music, my piano instruction began at the age of 6. I was fortunate enough to receive instruction through my high school years from a pianist who had her Master’s in Piano Performance. At college, I received a B.S. in music education (Magna Cum Laude) with a major in piano and a minor in voice.

I started teaching privately some 27 years ago and have been an officer and Festival Co-chairman for several years with Ft. Worth Music Teachers (not presently a member) and a member of National Guild of Piano Teachers for several years.  In addition to teaching privately, I accompany on a regular basis for BISD and church services.

Several of my students have continued on to pursue their music careers serving as teachers (public & private schools), independent teachers, worship leaders, and worship pianists. Not everyone aspires to be a teacher, but just loving music is reason enough to learn to play the piano. : - )

My passion is to teach others the enjoyment of music through note reading, ear training, theory, and technique; how to express musically what God has placed inside them for their own enjoyment as well as for the enjoyment of others.
