Group Piano Classes are a fun learning environment for the beginning* piano student. While emphasis is placed on learning to read music, students will also learn to play some songs without traditional sheet music. Games and activities are often used to teach musical concepts. Students will experience playing individually, in unison with the group, and together as an ensemble.
*Note: This class is for beginning students. It is not suitable for students who have had prior piano lessons to enroll in this level one class. Those who have had prior lessons should consider enrolling in private lessons instead. This class is also not suitable for students with significant learning delays or behavior disorders. These students should consider private lessons, so they will receive the individualized instruction that they require. If you are unsure if this class is a good fit for your child, please contact the studio before registering.
This is a 16-week class with daily practice requirements to be completed at home. Class meets one day each week for 60 minutes. Commitment is for the full semester. Tuition is to be paid in full, even if the student withdraws early (no refunds).
Students are expected to attend every class. If an absence is necessary due to illness, the new assignment will be emailed, and the student will be responsible for preparing it for the next class. If, at any time, a student feels they are falling behind, a private lesson and/or coached practice session can be scheduled with the instructor for a fee of $25 for 20 minutes.
Students who wish to continue with piano lessons at the end of this 16-week introductory class will typically switch to private lessons, which will be scheduled based on instructor's availability. If there are no openings for private lessons at that time, students may be allowed to continue as a group on a month-to-month basis until spots open up for private lessons.
Each student must have access to an 88-key acoustic or digital piano to use for daily practice. If you plan to purchase one, please consult with Ms. Brown for advice on what to look for.
To register, click the link at the bottom of this page. After your registration is received, Mrs. Brown will contact you to confirm, and you will receive an emailed invoice. You may pay online through that invoice, or deliver cash or check to the studio.
