Group Piano Classes are a fun learning environment for the beginning* piano student. While emphasis is placed on learning to read music, students will also learn to play some songs without traditional sheet music. Games and activities are often used to teach musical concepts. Students will experience playing individually, in unison with the group, and together as an ensemble.
This is a mixed-age class for ages 7-12. This enables friends and siblings to enroll in the same class. It also creates opportunities for pairing older students with younger students on games, activities, and duets. Younger students will do better if they can already read fairly independently. By partnering with an older student, however, they will still be able to keep up just fine.
*Note: This class is for beginning students. It is not suitable for students who have had prior piano lessons to enroll in the level one class. Those who have had prior lessons should consider enrolling in private lessons instead. Or, upon approval of the instructor, they may enroll in a level two class. This class is not suitable for students with significant learning delays or behavior disorders. These students should consider private lessons, so they will receive the individualized instruction that they require. If you are unsure if this class is a good fit for your child, please contact the studio before registering.
Each student must have an 88-key acoustic or digital piano at home to use for daily practice.
This is a weekly class with daily practice requirements to be completed at home. Class meets one day each week for 60 minutes. Commitment is for the full semester. Tuition is to be paid in full, even if the student withdraws early (no refunds).
Students are expected to attend every class. If an absence is necessary, due to illness, student will be responsible for picking up the assignment from the studio and preparing for the next class. If the instructor is notified by 9am on the day of class that you will be absent, your class will be recorded and sent to you via private YouTube link. You will be expected to watch the video and do the activities and assignments on your own. If, at any time, a student feels they are falling behind, a private lesson can be scheduled with the instructor for a fee of $40 for 30 minutes.
NOTE: You may register online by clicking the link at the bottom of this page. Once your registration is received, you will be contacted by the instructor and an invoice will be emailed to you. Online payment is available through a link in this email. Or you may deliver a check or cash to the studio.
