Private lessons are the most individualized approach to music study. Each private instructor will help you determine lesson length and frequency, as well as which books and/or supplemental materials should be used.
All of our instructors are highly qualified, trained musicians with many years of experience teaching private lessons. Through careful screening, we select instructors who will provide you the best learning experience possible. We also do background checks, in order to ensure the safety of you and your child.
With exception of very young students, or students with significant learning difficulties, our lessons are 45-minutes in length. Students will increase to an hour when they get more advanced. Through years of experience, we have found 45-minute lessons to be much more effective than 30-minute lessons. This allows us ample time to thoroughly introduce new concepts and material, enabling the student to be more successful in their practice time and preparation for the next lesson. The difference in their progress and understanding is significant with this extra 15 minutes each week.
Most beginning piano students will begin with either the Piano Preparatory Class or a Group Lesson. Students are evaluated at the end of their group piano class to determine whether, or not, they should continue with private lessons.

Please discuss the requirements with Mrs. Brown before making your purchase.
All instrumental students must have their own instrument for use in lessons and for daily practice at home. If you do not yet own one, instructors can advise you on what to buy when you meet with them prior to lessons.
